Patricia Altwegg, Ph.D.

Dr. Patricia Altwegg completed her doctoral work from Kansas State University with a major in curriculum and instruction and a minor in business administration with emphasis in management. During her career, Pat was a business instructor at Chapman High School, Miltonvale High School, Miltonvale Wesleyan College and Kansas State University. Pat spent 25 years at Cloud County Community College from which she received the Faculty Emeritus Award in 2000. While at Cloud County Pat served as Chairman of the Division of Business and Tourism Studies, Chairman of the Department of Aviation, and Director of the Cooperative Education and Career Assistance Center.

Pat started her career in grant writing in 1982. She authored, co-authored and administered $1,589,734 in grants for Cloud County Community College. Pat has worked as a grant consultant for numerous two and four-year colleges across the U.S. She has served as a federal reviewer for the U.S. Department of Education for nine years. In 2000, Pat became the Director of the Education Foundation for the Kansas Restaurant and Hospitality Association.

Pat has served as a consultant for the Small Business Administration. She served on the Board of Directors of the National Resort and Commercial Recreation Association, the Society of Travel Tourism Educators and the Kansas Hospitality Association. She was appointed by Governors Finney and Graves to serve on the Kansas Tourism Commission. Pat is also a past president of Alpha Sigma Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma International Society.

Pat began employment at KBOR in January 2002.
