The Council of Chief Academic Officers (COCAO), established in 1969, is composed of the academic vice presidents of the Regents institutions. COCAO meets monthly and reports to the Council of Presidents. COCAO works with the academic affairs Committee of the Board through the Director of Academic Affairs. One of its primary functions is to outline the academic plan for the Regents system.
