COGRO and SCOGRO

In 2011, the Regents created the Council of Government Relations Officers (COGRO) and a System Council of Government Relations Officers (SCOGRO). These councils are modeled after the other councils within the Regents system so that they include government relations officers from each state university and legislative liaisons for the community colleges, technical colleges and Washburn University.

The purpose of the councils is to enhance communication and coordination of legislative efforts regarding legislative issues and then to advise the presidents and the Board of such matters. The council meets on a monthly basis when the legislature is not in session and on a weekly basis when the legislature is in session. The council reports to the Council of Presidents.
