KBOR > KANSAS BOARD OF REGENTS Director of Federal Initiatives for Technical Education The Kansas Board of Regents is the governing body for the state’s six state universities. It is also the coordinating body for all thirty-six Kansas public higher education institutions, as well as private and out-of-state institutions. The Board invites nominations and applications for the Director of Federal Initiatives for Technical Education. This official oversees the administration of the federal Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act. The Director collaborates with the Vice President in strategic planning, including academic policies, procedures, and initiatives for the postsecondary technical education system. The Director manages special projects and serves as liaison to various groups. A minimum of three years full-time administrative experience in a workforce training environment, or a combination of five years full-time teaching and administrative experience in postsecondary technical education is required as are strong analytic, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to prioritize, take initiative, focus, and follow through to completion; acute understanding of technical education and workforce development; and ability to work with multiple agencies and constituents. A doctoral degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applications Programmer / Web Developer The Kansas Board of Regents is the governing body for the state’s six state universities. It is also the coordinating body for all thirty-six Kansas public higher education institutions, as well as private and out-of-state institutions. The Board invites nominations and applications for an Applications Programmer / Web Developer. This position is a temporary position that is expected to end June 2009. This position reports to the Board’s Associate VP for Accountability, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness and will be the lead in the development, implementation, and support of a new web-based Financial Aid database system. The salary is $40,000.
