KANSAS EDUCATION RESEARCH SCHOLARS PROGRAM

The Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) invites faculty of Kansas public universities to address educational research topics relevant to KBOR and the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) through the Kansas Education Research Scholars Program (KERSP). A maximum of eight (8), $5,000 stipends may be awarded to fund selected research proposals.

KERSP is designed to:

1.      Engage researchers in targeted research of interest to Kansas education stakeholders,
2.      Develop a tradition of Kansas-focused educational research to promote improvement in Kansas public education,
3.      Provide priority access to data from the Statewide Longitudinal Data System, a joint effort between KBOR and KSDE, and
4.      Generate opportunities for KSDE and KBOR to learn from researchers.
Ten (10) research topics have been identified that are of mutual interest to KSDE and KBOR.  Research proposals must respond to at least one (1) of the identified topics.

The Request for Proposals, which includes complete information on the project, timelines, research topics, and additional information for submissions is available as a PDF document.

Questions about the program should be addressed to Vanessa Lamoreaux at the Kansas Board of Regents office at 785.296.3421, or by email at vlamoreaux@ksbor.org.
