BOARD OF REGENTS ANNOUNCE 2004 SPRING ENROLLMENT FIGURES

(TOPEKA) – State university enrollment figures released today by the Kansas Board of Regents show a system-wide increase of 779 students for a 1% increase for the 2004 spring semester over the 2003 spring semester. The state’s six public universities reported a combined enrollment of 82,025 students as of the 20th day of classes.

The total number of Kansas residents enrolled at the state universities decreased by 179 students, bringing the number of resident students to 64,190. The number of non-resident students increased by 958 students, with 17,835 non-resident students enrolled at the state universities. Students enrolled in on-campus courses decreased by 308 to a total of 74,381 for the spring semester, while off-campus enrollments of 7,644 represent an increase of 1,087 students over the 2003 spring semester.
