BOARD OF REGENTS ANNOUNCE 2004 FALL ENROLLMENT FIGURES
(TOPEKA) – State university enrollment figures released today by
the Kansas Board of Regents show a system-wide increase of 250 students
for a 0.3% increase for the 2005 spring semester over the 2004 spring
semester. The six state universities reported a combined enrollment of
82,275 students as of the 20th day of classes.
The total number of Kansas residents enrolled at the state universities
decreased by 520 students, bringing the number of resident students to
63,670. The number of non-resident students increased by 770 students,
with 18,605 non-resident students enrolled at the state universities.
Students enrolled in on-campus courses decreased by 505 to a total of
73,876 for the spring semester, while off-campus enrollments of 8,399
represent an increase of 755 students over the 2004 spring semester.
The nine-member Kansas Board of Regents is the governing board of the
state’s six public universities: Emporia State University, Fort
Hays State University, Kansas State University, Pittsburg State University,
the University of Kansas and Wichita State University.
