Current Status

The Practical Nursing Alignment was approved by the Kansas Board of Nursing on September 18,  2007, and subsequently received by the Kansas Board of Regents.  Colleges are granted one year from the approval date to implement the alignment.

Final Business & Industry Recommendation:
The Kansas State Board of Nursing recommends the current curriculum requirements for accredited nursing programs as defined in the Nurse Practice Act be utilized as the basis for alignment.

Approved Alignment Map:
Practical Nursing program alignment was completed prior to the establishment of current alignment methodology, therefore an alignment map does not exist.
