KBOR > Qualified Admissions - Responsibilities

Kansas Board of Regents
Qualified Admissions (QA)

Responsibilities of the High School

1.  Check the KBOR QA web page frequently for updates about qualified admissions.
2.  Be familiar with qualified admissions including the specific content requirements for courses in the QA pre-college curriculum.
3.

Periodically check the QA web page for your school and update it as necessary. Be sure to:

a.  Check and update information in the School Profile. Correct contact information is particularly important.
b.  Check the QA pre-college curriculum posted on the web page for your school to ensure that it is up-to-date. Only the courses listed on the web page may count toward the QA pre-college curriculum. To avoid problems with admission to Regent's Universities, the course title shown on the student's transcript must exactly match the title shown on the QA web page.
c.  Follow formatting conventions when updating QA curriculum. These are described in "How and when to update the school's QA web page." Be sure to provide any necessary documentation.
d.  Understand that submission of an updated QA curriculum does not necessarily imply that the curriculum will be posted on the web page as it was submitted. Be sure to submit an updated curriculum several months in advance of enrolling students in the course.
4.  When emailing KBOR, be sure to use the high school's email system. Personal email addresses, such as hot mail addresses, are problematic for security reasons.

Responsibilities of KBOR Staff

1.  Respond to questions in a timely fashion. Because KBOR staff may be out of the office on business, please allow one week for responses.
2.  Respond to curriculum requests in a timely fashion. Curriculum requests are usually processed bi-weekly.
3.  Evaluate QA pre-college curriculum submissions according to policies and procedures established by the Board or by staff. KBOR staff is not authorized to modify policies established by the Board.
4.  Disseminate information about QA on the QA web page.
5.  Conduct periodic reviews of the content of QA pre-college courses.
