Joseph B. Bain of Goodland was appointed to the Kansas Board of Regents by Governor Sam Brownback in 2014. He is a partner of Cure & Bain, P.C., a general practice law firm.
Bain grew up in Ness City, Kansas, a graduate of Ness City High School. After law school he practiced for six years in the Kansas City metropolitan area, before returning to western Kansas in 2011. In 2013, he was selected to participate in Leadership Kansas, one of the oldest and most prestigious statewide leadership programs in the country. He is a member of Goodland Ambassadors and the Goodland Chapter of Rotary International. Bain serves as chair of the Kansas Board of Regents Fiscal Affairs & Audit Committee.
Bain received his bachelor’s degree in political science (2002) from Fort Hays State University and a law degree in 2005 from the University of Kansas School of Law. He and his wife, Shaudel, have three children. In his free time, he enjoys hunting and fishing, and playing sports.
