BOARD OF REGENTS RESPONDS TO ONGOING KU ATHLETICS ISSUES
(TOPEKA) – Today Board of Regents’ Chair Jill Docking, of Wichita, issued the following statement regarding the ongoing reports of issues related to the University of Kansas (KU) Athletics Department:
“As I indicated last week, the Board expects Chancellor Gray-Little to provide us, during our June meeting, with a comprehensive report outlining the steps she is taking to respond to this issue, and the plan she will pursue to restore the trust that has been damaged by the deeply disturbing conduct described in the report.”
“It’s imperative that we give the Chancellor the opportunity to fulfill her leadership role as the University’s CEO and the time necessary to get to the bottom of this. I trust these issues will be addressed by the Chancellor at our June meeting if not before. It’s truly unfortunate that this issue continues to distract from the University’s academic mission and the positive things taking place on campus. We have continued confidence that Chancellor Gray-Little will restore the integrity of the Department.” A copy of the Board’s May 26 statement can be viewed here.
